Update: Montrose School

In the late 1970s, Peerless purchased the 1908 Montrose school house at the intersection of Rockville Pike and Montrose Road and raised money to restore and renovate it.  Peerless advocated and worked to save this building due to its significance in the history of education and the community of Montrose. Since then, this historic building has returned to active use and has been used by a variety of tenants for the past three decades. We have owned the structure, but not the land beneath since then.

This year, after a prolonged campaign advocating for the future of this historic site, the Maryland Department of Transportation agreed to sell the land to Peerless Rockville. This purchase enables us to proceed with renovation and restoration plans which will return the building to active use and enable much-needed day care services to the area.
