Monday, April 8 is the final public hearing for Rockville’s proposed Fiscal Year 2025 budget. Please ask the Mayor and Council to fully fund Peerless Rockville’s Community Grant. Comments to eliminate our community grant have us concerned – share what you love about Peerless. You can voice your support for funding Peerless through the budget survey or public hearing. You can go speak in person or sign up to speak virtually by sending your Name, Phone number, the Public Hearing, and Expected Method of Joining the Meeting (computer or phone) to mayorandcouncil@rockvillemd.gov no later than 10 am on April 8. For nearly 50 years, Peerless Rockville has successfully carried out their activities with a lean budget. In addition to securing grants, they leverage volunteers, business sponsorships, and in-kind professional services in all of their efforts. The primary beneficiaries of their work have always been and continue to be the citizens of Rockville.

 

Peerless Rockville does admirable and important work celebrating African-American heritage, AAPI experiences, and women’s history in Rockville.

 

I ask that the City continue Rockville’s investment in sharing its history and heritage. Peerless Rockville offers services provided by no other organization at a fraction of the cost of City spending. Fully funding Peerless Rockville provides a path for preserving, protecting, and promoting Rockville’s heritage and unique identity.
