Based in Rockville, Liliane Blom is an award winning photographer, classically trained painter and innovative installation artist. She describes her fusion of photography and painting as digital painting. In the last decade she has been transforming her photographic images into interactive and immersive, sound/touch and light installations.
Her work starts with photographs of objects and people close to her; discoveries on her morning walks in her College Gardens neighborhood, trees blooming on her street, koi in her friend’s backyard pond, crows in her crabapple tree. She then transform these photographs to tell a story or to share a feeling. Liliane is very engaged in the arts community, and has served on a variety of boards, including the Cultural Arts Commission and the Art in Public Spaces Committee for the city of Rockville, as curator for UU Congregation of Rockville and as President of the Rockville Art League.
