Places Saved: Historic Preservation in Rockville

Join Peerless Rockville at Glenview Mansion for an illustrated presentation on historic preservation in the City of Rockville. In 2024, the Farmers Banking and Trust Company became Rockville’s newest designated site – come learn about it and other preservation triumphs in Rockville. There are 10 local historic districts, 40 designated historic sites, and even one National Historic Landmark in Rockville. Discover the unique historic districts that exist in the City and how they came to be. Learn how historic properties are determined to be worthy of local historic designation and how it protects historic buildings. Hear the stories of how some of these special places were saved by the Rockville community.

Peerless Rockville Historic Preservation Ltd. is supported in part by a grant from the City of Rockville and funding from the Montgomery County Government and the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
