Peerless Rockville Announces “Rockville 250: Our American Story” to Commemorate the Nation’s Semiquincentennial anniversary
ROCKVILLE, MD — Peerless Rockville, in partnership with the City of Rockville and community sponsors, is proud to announce Rockville 250: Our American History, a place-based pictorial exhibit in the Historic Red Brick Courthouse accompanied by special programming marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and Montgomery County.
The commemoration explores how Rockville grew with the nation, from its revolutionary days, through the era of slavery and fight for emancipation, into the mid-century baby boom with suburbanization, to become today’s modern and diverse 21st century City. By highlighting local people and places, the exhibit seeks to connect residents with our shared national heritage.
Exhibit
- Location: The Historic Red Brick Courthouse, 29 Courthouse Square, Rockville, MD.
- Exhibit Details: This place-based pictorial traces two and a half centuries of local history, beginning with Rockville’s origins as a colonial crossroads and moving through its evolution into a vibrant, diverse 21st-century city.
- Exhibit Hours: Wednesday – Friday, 10am – 4pm, plus special summer weekend hours: June 27, July 25, and August 29: 10am -1 pm.
Ongoing Programming
Following the grand opening, Peerless Rockville will host a series of lectures, walking tours, and special events throughout 2026, including lectures, tours, and publications.
