From the beginnings of education in the early 1800s with Rockville Academy to this September’s opening of the city’s newest elementary school in 50 years, Rockville led the way in schooling as we know it today in Montgomery County. Our local community even has national significance as one of the starting points for the landmark Supreme Court case overturning school segregation. Come hear about this fascinating history!
