Completed: Montrose Schoolhouse
Roof Replacement Project

Peerless Rockville is pleased to
report that the Montrose Schoolhouse Roof Replacement Project
has come to completion. The project began in September
2008 when Peerless Rockville proudly accepted a grant award from
the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) to help fund Peerless’
effort to replace the Montrose Schoolhouse 1909 tin roof.
The project
consisted of repairing the chimneys to ensure maximum energy
efficiency and the deteriorating patterned tin roof was replaced
to prevent water damage to the building.

In the next phase of the Montrose Schoolhouse project, Peerless
Rockville plans to raise enough funds to paint the exterior,
repair windows, and make other improvements. If you are
interested in providing services, or would like to make a
donation towards the Montrose School Preservation Project,
please call 301-762-0096 or send an email at
info@peerlessrockville.org.
