  4. Raising $ 175,000 to restore the Grand Courtroom in the Red Brick Courthouse

  1. Presenting hundreds of quality programs & tours on topics of local history, architecture, and preservation

  2. Collecting images, artifacts, & papers important to Rockville, such as Malcolm Walter's photographs 1917 - 1933

  3. Involving Rockville citizens of all ages in hands-on preservation projects

  4. Ensuring that Rockville's B&O Railroad Station was not destroyed by Metro

  5. Serving local businesses & people working on historic houses with information & technical assistance

  6. Researching more than 400 historic sites & identifying historic places in every neighborhood of Rockville

  7. Recognizing good restoration & design work with Rockville Preservation Awards for 19 years

  8. Proving that progress need not destroy the past; and helping new development complement Rockville's historic places.

  9. Purchasing the two-room Montrose Schoolhouse & returning it to active use

  10. Attracting "outside" funding to Rockville prefects & visitors to Rockville places

  11. Maintaining & restoring the historic Baptist Cemetery

  12. Initiating community traditions, such as the Progressive Dinner & New Year's Brunch

  13. Assisting Rockville neighborhoods, such as Haiti, to appreciate history in their own backyards

  14. Helping to launch the F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Conference & Higgins Historic Cemetery Association

  15. Mounting public exhibits, such as two on historic Rockville cemeteries, Hungerford Tavern and photographer Malcolm Walter: Rockville in the Age of Fitzgerald

  16. Writing 25 publications, such as "Rockville in the 1920s" & "Guide to the Rockville Pike'

  17. Organizing & protecting 100 years of Wire Hardware store business records

  18. Sponsoring hundreds of internships & volunteer & (earning opportunities for young people

  19. Advocating and working for a revitalized Rockville Town Center

  20. Building partnerships with neighborhoods, business, government, & groups such as Rockville Little Theatre, Montgomery County Bar Association, & Rockville Sister City Corporation.

  21. Capturing the memories of Rockville's past with oral history interviews

  22. Presenting enrichment programs and volunteer opportunities for students

  23. Helping visitors to enjoy Rockville's historic places and rich heritage

  24. Computerizing Peerless Rockville's collections to increase public access to information
